The Icelandic Horse
Icelandic horses are a delight to their owners for many reasons. The wonderfully smooth tolt and the thrill of flying pace are only part of the fun. Icelandic horses are energetic and powerful, personalities vary from those suitable for children and grandmothers to ride, to those that are for the professionals only.

Part of the appeal of theses horses is that you can find those that will carry your child with the utmost of care and yet show all the power and speed you could ever want in the show ring or on a trail.

Icelandic Horses are very intelligent horses that really want to please their riders. They are about 12 to 14 hands high. Although short in stature they easily carry full grown men on trail rides and in competitions. They have a wonderful winter coat and shed out to sleek in summer. Icelandic Horses love to stay outside even in the worst of winter and are easy keepers requiring 11 to 14 pounds of grass hay for typical family use.
